09 Jul Pink and Yellow
Much as I try to steer clear of trends, I can’t help falling for a colour combination that has become extremely fashionable recently – pink and yellow. It is a great example of how one colour can completely transform another to create a match that will transform any scheme, from a table top to an entire room.
Here it has been used to brilliant effect by Catchpole & Rye in this breathtaking bathroom (La Provence bath available from catchpoleandrye.com. Good pinks are hard to find – try the delicious (but subtler than shown in this shot) Setting Plaster (£67.50, 5l Designer Paints).
For the table, the brilliant Thornback and Peel have used both colours to create a deeply stylish place setting (£11.50 napkin Thornback & Peel.
Finally this fabulous handmade abstract rug by Jan Kath, pictured here hanging in his breathtaking gallery in Berlin, uses the combinations to perfection.
