06 Jan A new take on vintage florals
From her home in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands, Caroline Inchyra has created a collection of timeless linens with a vintage feel, suitable for curtains and upholstery. ‘Balazuc’, named after a beautiful medieval village in France, is a collection of five patterns, each printed on both an ivory and a natural base cloth.
The collection is based on two small scraps of French cotton print that date from the late 1800s, although the final look is very much their own being both up-to-date but with an aged and rustic colour palette.
A useful addition to the collection is a co-ordinating border printed four times across a full width of fabric with a seam allowance built into the design, so that borders for up to four curtains can be cut from one drop.
