Lewis & Wood Bukhara Tea Rose ikat printed fabric linen in blue brown

Ikat prints

Ikat printed fabric using good quality linen in useable colours are surprisingly difficult to find.  This is because many are made in the traditional manner and imported as one off’s or by the roll.  Great if you are after originality and authenticity, but harder if you are wanting to colour match samples or have a more durable weight of fabric.

Lewis & Wood have the fabulous Bukhara range (£90 a metre Lewis & Wood) which looks good both centred on cushions as well as for large scale curtain drops (see main image).

Others to look for are Baker Lifestyle’s Bansuri (£69 a metre Kingdom Interiors); Manuel Canovas’s Madina at £97 per metre from Manuel Canovas and the slightly harder to find Pantan by Kravet.
