For anyone who shies away from the idea of florals, there is always the less scary option of leafy fabrics, wallpapers, prints and accessories. The effect is as quintessentially English but just a little more restrained – and will sit more comfortably in contemporary schemes.
OKA has a set of 8 framed fern prints for £295 (okadirect.com) that will completely make a room and make as bold a statement as wallpaper. If it’s blinds, curtains, cushions or upholstery you are after, Sanderson has a wonderful Woodland Ferns that comes as a fabric in four colours for £63 a metre from Kingdom Interiors, or wallpaper at £57 a roll (pictured in main shot) from wallpaper direct. GP & J Baker also does the wonderful Ferns wallpaper that costs £89 a roll from wallpaperdirect or a matching fabric at £79 a metre. NEW – to get the look see my latest scheme ‘leafy prints‘
For something a bit more dramatic, wallpaper, consider Ferns in black from Thibaut at £60 a roll from TM Interiors.
